Omnibus Law Amends Wealth Fund, Labor, and Tax Regulations
New legislation adjusts scope for Turkey Wealth Fund subsidiaries and extends VAT exemptions
Law No. 7573 introduces significant changes across various sectors. Amendments to the Turkey Wealth Fund Law clarify that companies and sub-funds established by the Fund, or where the Fund is a controlling shareholder, are subject to private law and exempt from legislation governing public institutions (excluding specific articles of the Civil Servants Law). Additionally, the Law amends the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law, extending the date in Provisional Article 17 from 31 December 2025 to 31 December 2030.

Bank Liability for Cheques Increased
Central Bank updates mandatory payment limits for bearer cheques
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has updated the Communiqué regarding chequebook printing and bank liabilities. The mandatory amount banks are obliged to pay to the bearer for each cheque leaf has been increased from 12,650 TL to 16,350 TL. For chequebooks printed before the effective date of previous communiqués, the amount is adjusted from 11,120 TL to 14,200 TL. These changes take effect on 30 January 2026.
